WhaleTales is made and run by Ahmet SIRIM, the developer the App Store names as its seller ("the developer", "we").
By downloading, installing, or using WhaleTales ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you are a parent or guardian, you agree to them for yourself and for your child.
WhaleTales helps children aged 9 to 11 learn English by reading comic stories from a library. The library's stories and pictures are made ahead of time with the help of AI tools, and each story passed a safety check and a review before it was added. The app does not write new stories while it is used.
The app is made for children aged 9 to 11 and is listed in the Kids Category of the App Store. The account is the parent's or guardian's: an adult creates it with their own Apple ID and is responsible for how the app is used on the child's device.
A parent or guardian signs in with Sign in with Apple. Signing in, purchases, links that leave the app and the feedback email sit behind a parental gate that uses the device owner's Face ID, Touch ID or passcode; the Privacy Policy says how it behaves on a device without a passcode. You can delete the account in the app, in the Me tab; see the Privacy Policy for what deletion removes.
Do not misuse the service, including automated access, reverse engineering, or working around credit and usage limits.
The stories are checked for safety and reviewed, but they are made with AI tools and may still contain mistakes, including mistakes in English. They are for learning and entertainment, and are not advice of any kind. If you see something in a story that should not be there, email us and we will look at it.
WhaleTales is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or free of errors.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WhaleTales and its developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
The app, its design, its characters, its drawings and its stories belong to the developer.
We may change these terms. When we do, we update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey.
For questions about these terms, contact the developer, Ahmet SIRIM, at support@flyingwhale.app.
The words the app teaches are drawn from the CEFR-J Wordlist. The level each word is taught at is assigned by WhaleTales.
